Continuing Expansion Into The African Continent, SII Exports Clinker To Mauritania

PT Semen Indonesia International (SII) continues to expand its international market reach through the export of clinker to Mauritania in Northwest Africa. The export activity was marked by the clinker loading process, which took place from March 13 to 16, 2026, using the dry bulk vessel SSI Vigilant. The loading process was carried out at the SIG Special Port in Tuban, with a total loading capacity of 47,840 metric tons (MT).

The exported clinker is a high-quality product manufactured directly at the SIG Tuban Plant, which meets international quality standards.

This export is part of SII’s strategy to strengthen its global market penetration, particularly in the African region, which has significant growth potential in the construction sector. With increasing infrastructure development needs across the region, SII sees substantial opportunities to offer high-quality products that can compete effectively in international markets.

SII Acting President Director, R. Trisandi Hendrawan, stated that in 2026, SII successfully expanded its export market to two new countries on the African continent. Previously, in January 2026, SII successfully exported products to South Africa, followed by further expansion into Mauritania in March 2026.

“We hope that SIG products will not only be accepted in the African market but will also continue to gain acceptance in other global markets, including Europe,” he said.

The expansion of exports to Africa reflects SIG’s commitment to optimizing national production capacity and strengthening the competitiveness of domestic products in the global market. The synergy between SII and SIG plays a key role in ensuring a sustainable supply and consistent product quality for shipments to various international destinations.
