PT Semen Indonesia International (SII) Celebrates The 80th Anniversary Of Indonesia's Independence With Traditional Competitions

PT Semen Indonesia International (SII) commemorated the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence by organizing a variety of traditional competitions involving the board of directors and employees. The lively event took place at the Signature Lounge, The East, South Jakarta, on Friday (August 15, 2025).

The competitions were divided into group and individual categories. Group competitions included badminton, traditional games such as t-shirt relay, Indonesian cultural quiz, marble race, and wobbling tampah (traditional rice winnowing tray). Individual competitions featured chess and scrabble. SII employees, dressed in red and white-themed outfits, enthusiastically participated in the series of events.

SII’s Director of Finance & Risk Management, R. Trisandi Hendrawan, who also took part in the scrabble competition, stated that the event aimed to instill national values, strengthen the sense of unity, and preserve the nation’s culture through traditional games. “The scrabble competition also helps improve employees' English skills. As SII is a global company, enhancing English proficiency is essential,” said Trisandi.

The celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day concluded with the announcement of the competition winners and the distribution of prizes. This annual event is expected to be a moment to strengthen togetherness and instill the spirit of independence within the SII community.
